DESCRIPTION:The Washington-Wilkes 8th Annual Christmas Parade of Lights lets us know Christmas is not far away. This fun and festive event continues to grow each year and become a much-looked-forward-to part of our holiday celebration.\n\n\n\nThe parade will begin its journey onto Robert Toombs Avenue from South Pecan Street around 6 PM. From there\, it will travel through the Downtown\, past The Square and ending at the Pope Center on Lexington Avenue.\n\n \n\n6:00-6:50 and 7:30-8:00 Snow will fall on The Square\n\n\n\nThe Downtown  Washington Shops will remain open until 7 pm for you convenience.\n\n\n\nIn case of inclement weather\, the alternative date is scheduled for Monday\, December 16\, at 6 pm. A judgment call will be made to reschedule and relayed to local TV\, radio stations and social media 3 hours prior to parade start.\n\n \n\nTo participate in the parade\, you can download a Parade Application or stop by the Chamber of Commerce at 26 West Square.
