Our Beliefs

The Apostles’ Creed unites us with Christians across the globe and throughout the centuries, and we recite it each Sunday. Our congregation belongs to ECO (Evangelical Covenant Order of Presbyterian Churches) and affirms ECO’s Essential Tenets and Core Values. Learn more at eco-pres.org.

Our Worship

Our worship reflects the Christian journey through four phases: recollection—remembering who we are as people made in God’s image; purification—removing what separates us from God; illumination—seeing ourselves and the world from God’s perspective; and union—growing in God’s presence and purpose.

Our Call to Worship, Confession of Sin, Scripture readings, sermon, Lord’s Supper, and Benediction guide us through this journey of faith.

Our Staff

In June 2026, we called Rev. Dr. Adrian T. Smith as our pastor. Adrian and his family live next door to the church and seek to serve the spiritual needs of Washington through God’s grace, the Holy Spirit, and the resurrection of Jesus.

Our History

Our first pastor, Rev. John Springer, was ordained in 1790 beneath a poplar tree on Poplar Drive. Wood from that historic tree lives on in our offering bowls and the cross above the pulpit.

Our sanctuary, built in 1825, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and features an historic 1888 Hook & Hastings organ.
