Join us on The Square for the official opening of the Christmas season in Washington.

5:00 – 9:00: The Shops and Restaurants of Washington welcome all to this wonderful family tradition. The sidewalks are lined with candle luminaries as the restaurants and shops ring in the Holidays with great specials and gift ideas. Local artists and crafters will sell hand made, homegrown and hyperlocal gifts and merchandise.

6:00 - 6:15: Tree Lighting Ceremony: Mayor Ames Barnett and Mayor-Elect Bill deGolian welcome everyone and recognizes & thanks the city employees who made the event possible. Afterwards all the children gather around the tree and count down to the lighting of the tree. As soon as the tree brightens the night, the SNOW BEGINS!

6:15- 6:45: Reeves Chapel Choir will delight young and old with their harmony and soulful voices.

6:45-9:00: Holiday and Christmas music from traditional to new. (recorded)
