This free, outdoor event is hosted by the Robert Toombs House with the Iris Garden Club’s Youth Contest being the focus of the activities.
K-9 students: “Adventures in the Garden” youth poetry contest. Take a look at the Shakespeare Garden and use your imagination to write a poem.
4th -8th grade: Youth Sculpture Contest. This is a fun a creative way to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Please bring some items to use or donate for other children to create with.
1st-5th grade: Smokey Bear & Woodsy Owl Poster Contest. Some posters boards will be available for small fee or you can supply your own board (11x17).
High School: Gardeners Essay Contest with a first place award to the National Winner of a $1000 scholarship! The theme for the essay is “Challenges In Preserving our Natural Habitats” and it must be between 600-700 words.
