Parade of Lights

The Washington-Wilkes 8th Annual Christmas Parade of Lights lets us know Christmas is not far away. This fun and festive event continues to grow each year and become a much-looked-forward-to part of our holiday celebration.

The parade will begin its journey onto Robert Toombs Avenue from South Pecan Street around 6 PM. From there, it will travel through the Downtown, past The Square and ending at the Pope Center on Lexington Avenue.
 
6:00-6:50 and 7:30-8:00 Snow will fall on The Square

The Downtown  Washington Shops will remain open until 7 pm for you convenience.

In case of inclement weather, the alternative date is scheduled for Monday, December 16, at 6 pm. A judgment call will be made to reschedule and relayed to local TV, radio stations and social media 3 hours prior to parade start.
 
To participate in the parade, you can download a Parade Application or stop by the Chamber of Commerce at 26 West Square.
